From Bluff

Here from Wild River Expeditions in Bluff Utah we are ahead of schedule thanks to the high release from Navajo reservoir. We have a couple days to mend broken gear. All is well and our hearts are full of gratitude to everyone who has been a part of this Entire journey.

Spoon here with the final pre trip update

My 88 Cadillac is loaded with my life for the next three months as I will be moving to Telluride for the summer shortly after the trip, Drybags, backpacks, stoves, headlamps, sleeping pads, the list goes on. Boats are where they need to be, snowboards and skis ready to go, food caches and list are with who they need to be with.

We will be sending updates and marking our locations through the SPOT GPS website,http://share.findmespot.com/shared/faces/viewspots.jsp?glId=0IgDVx8ycZ4S8MQG4CN6mjZbKcYKDiVHb

Feel free to follow us on the link above.

Thanks again to everyone who has been apart of this!

I leave you with a picture of Greg cleaning the groovers we will be using for the next 5 weeks. A humbling experience to say the least. But ,that is a smile on Greg's face.

Success

Recently we met our goal for fundraising on Kickstarter. We are all very excited and thankful to those who are supporting us and following The Current.

We all have our own fears and doubts. Steph Davis, pro climber, does a really good job talking about dealing with these emotions and how they affect performance. Hope you can take something away from this. http://vimeo.com/39503546

Swimming

With an early spring runoff, The Current crew has been getting after it. Enjoying the river right in our backyard, the Animas. Spoon bought a kayak. He has a fever and the only cure is more kayaking.

In boating, when someone "swims" or comes out of their kayak, they must drink a booty beer (pour beer into river foot wear and drink) to give thanks to the River Gods. Yesterday, Spoon swam after getting many combat rolls kayaking at the play park in Durango. After many excuses, he had to appease the Gods. This moment was caught on video and we thought it needed to be shared with the internet world.

We would like to add a disclaimer that this action is for the Gods, not for the fun. Drinking beer out of footwear is not fun, but a religious practice.
